Q: What does a catering package include? 

A: Prepare and set up the menu you select for your event. Provide servers, utensils and equipment as requested by your representative. 

Q: Is cake cutting included in a wedding package? 

A: Staff is available to cut and serve cake. 

Q: Can you provide a bartender for my event if I provide the alcohol?
A: Yes, there is a $200 charge for the bartender. You must provide proof of host liquor liability insurance or you can be additional insured on our policy for $250. You can order a mixer package for $3.50/person, otherwise you will need to provide all necessary mixers, cups, ice, etc. needed for your bar. If you need to rent a bar we can provide pricing for that as well. Please inquire with your rep.

Q: What kind of dinnerware is included in your packages?

A: All wedding menus include disposables. If you would like to upgrade to our standard dinnerware package the cost is $3.50/per person and includes a dinner plate, cake plate, silverware, your choice of beverage glass (4 choices), gold or silver charger. Additional servers may be required.

Q: What is the cancellation policy? 

A: Client shall have 10 business days in advance of the event to cancel this agreement. Thereafter, client shall be responsible for the full contract price of all catering services ordered herein. Deposit is non-refundable even if cancellation is made before the 10-day cut off. 

Q: Does The Savory Roots offer tastings? 

A: Yes, tastings are held monthly. Please check out events page (here) for dates and times. 

Q: How much is the deposit to reserve my event? 

A: A 10%  or $250 (whichever is greater) non-refundable deposit will reserve your event. 

Q: Is Savory Roots Catering eco-friendly? 

A: We pride ourselves in practicing sustainable business operations. 

Q: When is the final payment due? 

A: Payment in full is required 10 days before the date of the event. Government agencies may pay by a Check On Delivery. Payment can be made by MasterCard, VISA, Discover, American Express, cash, or check. Failure to receive final payment prior to your event, it will be assumed you no longer require our services. At the time of final payment, a credit card guarantee is required. This is to ensure payment of any charges that may be incurred during the time of your event, such as unexpected additional guests and/or overtime labor charges. 

Q: What staff is required for my event? 

A: Each event requires a banquet captain to carry out all event details from start to finish at $120 for a 4-hour event. One server per 30-40 people is required for a buffet dinner and one server per 20 people for a seated dinner. Cost of server is $75 each for a 4-hour event. After 4 hours from the start of your event, there will be an additional charge of $20/hour for each server and $30/hr for banquet captain. 

Q: Is décor included in catering packages? 

A: We decorate our catering stations to complement your events colors and look. If you need recommendations on event décor, we work with a talented array of vendors. 

Q: Do you offer online ordering? 

A: Yes, we offer online ordering for your convenience. Click here  to start your order. Online ordering is for drop off catering services only. Delivery charges do apply.

Q: Can we take leftovers?

A: Leftovers are not guaranteed. We usually make more than what was ordered in case of extra guests, etc. If you wish to have leftovers it is your responsibility to inform your Banquet Captain, otherwise it will be donated to a local charity. Due to food safety guidelines food that has not been held at proper temperatures should be disposed of. We release all liability of leftover food. 

Q: What is the service charge? Is it a gratuity?

A: All catering packages are charged a 15% service charge on food and beverage costs. The service charge is an event production fee to cover additional back end costs that go into preparing and planning for your event. Gratuity is not included or expected but is appreciated.
